Adventures at the Buckhorn

3 Comments 05 January 2010

by Tyler Hoelting When George Avery decides to take the office on an adventure, many of us have learned his antics come without warning. He devoted this affair to a course in Colorado history. The Buckhorn Exchange, Denver’s oldest restaurant was the destination chosen for this occasion. Walking into the establishment it is easy to see the rich history and Old West demeanor. The restaurant smelled of weathered oak and waitresses dressed in traditional full skirts. George in true form, ordered up an array of meats, despite the displeasured looks from a few of his guests. Here are some of the meats we sampled: Rattlesnake, Fried Alligator Tail, Rocky Mountain Oysters, Buffalo and Elk Game Tips, Ostrich, Yak, and Quail. To see the full menu, click here.
