Do you ever have that aha moment. Of “Oh I get it now.” I can see clearly.
I’ve been in this industry for going on eight years now. I’ve been through my ups and downs. Seen many offers come and go. Affiliates blowing up, then the next day they are struggling with traffic sources.
Many types of affiliate managers. Managers that are in it for themselves, and ones that help and teach. It’s the affiliate managers that play a part of the team that are successful. Why? Because it takes the team to make a network work.
It’s surprising things during my day as the director of GetAds that bring these aha moments into clearer focus. I’m no longer an affiliate manager – which is hard at times since I’ve always enjoyed working with affiliates. But more than anything, I like making sure that my affiliate managers are part of a team. A team that helps our affiliates. We know what we are talking about when it comes to offers and traffic. We don’t just push. We work to know what will work.
I’m proud of the team I have. I am amazed by the maturity. When a manager could blow up an offer, but holds back since it’s not the traffic that will work best for the advertiser. This would only cause troubles for the affiliate down the road. So he says no to the easy way, and works to make an offer work for the advertiser, affiliate and us.
When I discover the hidden talents people have it reminds me just how amazing the people are around me.
I am thankful to be a part of this amazing industry. There are so many opportunites for everyone involved. It’s hard to stay rooted in an industry that changes daily. But it’s the constant learning, growing and sharing that binds us all.
I’m glad I have an opportunity to be a part of GetAds. My “Aha” moment – this really is what I want to be doing. Bringing educated affiliate managers to the industry, being a part of new marketing methods and having fun making it happen.
Have a great weekend.
