I’m a statistics chick, which is ironic because I suck at math. But I think to be really successful with affiliate marketing; you have to understand the nuances of the offers and how they work …

4 Magic O Words

Four Words: Own Ongoing Opportunities Online

When you create a traffic source for yourself you have a bit more control over the volatile market we all work in.

You are able to say what you can market and use your response rate as a meter of success. You also don’t have to wait on Facebook to approve pages, keywords to become active or other deterrents to your marketing efforts.

Below are some ideas for you to create your own ongoing opportunities online:

List Building – Thanks to the Squeeze theme for WordPress by Unique blog designs, building a list is pretty streamlined.
If you don’t want to buy the theme, get a simple theme and include a video you made in the top post and make it sticky.

Include an aweber form in the side bar and give something away. Most the time this is an ebook or an online course.

If you don’t want to write your own ebook, find one on ebay with resale rights.

If you do take the time to write your own, get your affiliate links in there. Since offers in the cpa world go up and down. I recommend driving all your ebook links to a page you host. Put your offers up on those. This way you can optimize your campaigns, but change them when you need too.

You can use sites like FreePDFConverter to convert from doc formats to a pdf for download.

Membership Site – A helpful plugin to turn your wordpress blog to a membership site is from WishList Products. Keep the price where it provides value to your members and keeps them paying on a monthly or weekly basis.

Track how long your members stay paying customers. This way you know the value of each one. So when you start marketing your site and possibly paying for traffic, you know how much to spend and still make a profit.

The longer your members are paying participants, obviously the more you make. So keep information updated, fresh and valuable to them.

Newsletter – this is very similar to list building but I wanted to make it separate. If you have a blog, website or something already established add a newsletter to your current traffic source. Keep your readers coming back. There are a variety of services available for these, constantcontact.com, aweber.com, mailchimp.com.

Paid Forum – Streamlining this process is AMember. Again, this is just another vehicle to create your own traffic.

All these boil down to quality and unique content people are willing to pay for or be a part of. It is also keeping them engaged in order to keep your offers in front of their faces.

Many of these methods are along the same lines. Provide new and valuable content on a consistent basis. It’s just picking your poison really.

The big step is doing it. Start today. Don’t wait.

Keep those big O words in mind and you’ll find your own ongoing opportunities online.
